Air Peace is currently in the air on a direct São Paulo-Lagos service, flying members of Nigeria’s delegation to Brazil and some private-sector leaders back home. The Boeing 777 wide-body aircraft deployment comes just a day after Nigeria and Brazil signed a historic aviation agreement witnessed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Brasília. Based on the Agreement signed, two Nigerian carriers, Air Peace and Cavertin are expected to commence passenger, and cargo services respectively on that route in the last quarter of the year.

The demonstration flight is a clear signal of Nigeria’s readiness to operationalise the new corridor between Africa’s largest country and South America’s biggest market. It also underlines the strength of Nigerian private enterprise in matching government-to-government agreements with real capacity and delivery.

The Lagos-São Paulo route will expand trade, investment, tourism, and cultural exchange between the two nations. It forms part of President Tinubu’s broader Renewed Hope Agenda to open new markets, strengthen South-South cooperation, and create opportunities for Nigerian businesses and travellers alike.

“We are showing the world that Nigerian carriers can compete on global routes, and that Nigeria’s partnerships deliver immediate, tangible results,” the Presidency noted.
